Static Balance

  • Normal : Able to maintain steady balance without support against all challenges
  • Good+ : Maintains balance with limited postural sway against maximal challenges, no external support
  • Good : Maintains balance with limited postural sway against moderate challenges, no external support
  • Good- : Maintains balance with limited postural sway against minimal challenges, no external support
  • Fair+ : Maintains balance with limited postural sway against minimal challenges, with support
  • Fair : Maintains balance with limited postural sway, no challenges, with support
  • Fair- : Minimal assist to maintain balanced position
  • Poor+Moderate assist to maintain balanced position
  • PoorMaximal assist to maintain position
  • Zero : Unable to maintain position, requires total assist

Dynamic Balance

  • Normal : Accepts maximal challenges, can shift weight easily out of base of support in all directions, no loss of balance, no external support
  • Good+ : Maintains balance against maximal challenges, no external support
  • Good : Maintains balance against moderate challenges, no external support
  • Good- : Maintains balance against minimal challenges, no external support
  • Fair+ : Maintains balance against minimal challenges, with support
  • Fair : Maintains balance, no challenges, with support
  • Fair- : Minimal assist to maintain balance
