A group of peers that evaluate the appropriateness of services and quality of care under reimbursement and/or state licensure requirements.

Utilization Review

The process of making sure healthcare services are being used appropriately and efficiently.

Peer Review

A system that evaluates the quality of work of a group of health professionals through the review of their peers.

Prospective Review

Evaluation of proposed interventions that have not been provided yet.

Concurrent Review

Ongoing review as interventions is provided.

Retrospective Review

Medical record chart audit after interventions are provided.
